The following court programs utilize the interests and talents of volunteers to assist in various capacities:
FORECLOSURE PROGRAM ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Who: Interested adults with attention to detail and interest in the foreclosure process
Task: Sort mail for foreclosure department, make copies of court orders, and prepare out-going correspondence
When: Applicant’s choice of a 4-hour shift, Monday – Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Work conducted in Court Administration office in Main Courthouse.
Requirements: Application, interview, background screening. Applicant cannot currently have a pending case in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit
INFORMATION DESK AT MAIN COURTHOUSE
Who: Interested adults to provide information to the visiting public
Task: Direct visitors to the appropriate courtroom, clerk’s office or service within the Courthouse
When: One or more 3-hour shifts per week, Monday – Friday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Requirements: Application, interview, background screening
INFORMATION DESK AT SOUTH COUNTY COURTHOUSE (DELRAY BEACH)
Who: Interested adults to provide information to the visiting public
Task: Direct visitors to the appropriate courtroom, clerk’s office or service within the Courthouse
When: One 4-hour shifts per week, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM OR 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Requirements: Application, interview, background screening
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES LINE
Who: Adults with a pleasant telephone demeanor to assist callers to the phone line dedicated for service requests from individuals with disabilities
Task: Take phone messages, return calls for information, book sign language interpreter services, compile statistics on call volumes, and assist in ensuring procedural compliance with Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act.
When: 10 shifts to be filled; applicant’s choice of 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on any day Monday – Friday. Work conducted in Court Administration office in Main Courthouse.
Requirements: Application, interview, background screening, minimal computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel. Training will be provided.
TRAFFIC HEARING AIDES
Who: Interested adults to check in parties to civil traffic cases. Conducted at Wellington Community Center and South County Civic Center
Task: Check docket for name of participant, direct visitors to seating, record hearing officer’s decision and provide forms as needed
When: Monday morning, one day per month in South County; Wednesday afternoon, one day per month in Wellington
Requirements: Application, interview, background screening. Must enjoy working in a crowded, fast-paced environment and have ability to hear proceedings conducted via video.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FOR COURT ADMINISTRATION
Who: Adults interested in customer service, human resource administration or employment law. Note: these positions do not involve work in the courtroom.
Task: Staff main reception area, book appointments, prepare training materials, filing, assist with special human resource management projects.
When: applicant’s choice of 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM on any day Monday – Friday. Work conducted in Court Administration office in Main Courthouse.
Requirements: Application, interview, background screening, familiar with Microsoft Outlook and Word. Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint would be an asset. Training will be provided. Applicants for these positions must not have a case pending in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.

The minimum age for volunteers is 18. In some cases, volunteer work may qualify for school credit.
