Divisional Instructions


Judge Evans conducts short (5-10 minutes) motions, plea conferences, and other miscellaneous hearings, on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday @ 8:15 a.m., and on Fridays at 9:00 a.m. Uniform motions do not need to be set or confirmed through the JA. Any motion/hearing requiring more than 10 minutes must be specially set through the judicial assistant. The moving party is required to bring to the hearing, a copy of the motion, a proposed order (an original, plus one copy for each party), and self addressed stamped envelopes for all parties (sufficient copies and self addressed stamped envelopes are required on all cases). Judge Evans will not accept agreed motions for continuance on matters set for trial or pre trial. All motions for continuance on the aforementioned, must be set for hearing.

  • Monday afternoon hearings are set by the Court or though the Judicial Assistant ONLY.
  • Please check suspension calendar often, as dates are subject to change.
  • All matters scheduled on or for the dates listed above will not be heard, and will be the responsibility of the moving party for the rescheduling of same.
  • All emergency matters and next day returns will be conducted/addressed by Judge Sheree Cunningham. In her absence these matters will be conducted at the Gun Club Facility.

Please DO NOT send original documents or checks to the Judges chambers. All original documents MUST be sent/filed with the Clerk's Office. Courtesy copies to the Court are not required.

When sending envelopes for return correspondence, please leave return address area for the Defendant blank. The judicial assistant will stamp the judges name and address in that area. If the mailing is returned from the post office, it will be docketed and made part of the court file.When calling the judges chambers to set a hearing, if you are calling long distance, and you do not have a toll free number, you are asked to please return your call.
