Divisional Instructions


UNIFIED MOTION CALENDAR: We DO NOT have a UMC calendar.Everything is scheduled through the judicial assistant. All motions must be addressed with the opposing counsel prior to filing. If an agreement is reached an agreed order can be submitted. If opposing counsel objects to the motion the objection must be stated in the motion and then the motion must be filed with the clerk and a courtesy copy provided to the judge. Judge Marx will review the motion and the JA will call you with
a date for your hearing.

CALENDAR CALL: We have calendar call every Friday.

SPECIAL SET MOTIONS
: Any motions that require more than 10 minutes must be submitted to the judge for review along with the amount of time requested for the hearing. The JA will call you back to schedule the hearing.

PRELIMINARY V.O.P.: Preliminary VOP’s are heard within 24-48 hours after defendant is picked up and are at 8:29 am.

CASE DISPOSITIONS:
Case disposition hearings are heard on Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 am.

ARRAIGNMENTS
: Arraignments are every Thursday at 8:25 am
