Important Notice Regarding Calendar Call on July 8, 2022
In person calendar call set for July 8 at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 10G is cancelled and has been converted to an E-calendar call. There will be no appearance at calendar call, either in person in the courtroom or via Zoom. Orders Regarding Calendar Call with an attached E-calendar call form have been e-served to all parties with cases on the trial docket of July 18 through September 9, 2022. If your case is on this docket and you did not receive an order, please contact the judicial assistant at CAD-DivisionAI@pbcgov.org.

Updated Information Regarding Appearance by Zoom
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, until further notice UMC hearings are being conducted remotely using the Zoom platform. When scheduling a UMC hearing on the Online Scheduling System, the hearing confirmation will include a Zoom link.
For special set hearings of 15 and 30 minutes, lengthy evidentiary hearings, and non-jury trials, parties have the option to appear in person in the courtroom or remotely via Zoom.
Jury trials (including court-ordered pretrial case management conferences and jury selection) are conducted in person; however, witnesses may appear remotely via Zoom.
Important Notice Regarding UMC Hearings in Division AI
ALL UMC HEARINGS ARE CONDUCTED VIA ZOOM ONLY. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, UMC starts at 8:30 a.m. and may finish at 10:00 a.m. to accommodate the extra time needed for Zoom hearings. When scheduling a UMC hearing on the Online Scheduling System, the hearing confirmation will include a Zoom link. Zoom permits both telephonic and video appearances. (The Court will not hold UMC hearings via a separate teleconference line.) Please include the Zoom information in place of Courtroom 10H* on your Notices of Hearing for UMC.
*As of January 18, 2022, the courtroom assignment for Division AI (Judge Curley) will be 10G.
Please send all materials in hard copy for Judge Curley’s review at least three (3) days in advance of the UMC hearing. When sending the paperwork for a hearing on a Motion to Dismiss, please provide the Judge with a copy of the OPERATIVE PLEADINGS. On a motion to compel discovery, please provide the operative discovery.
Important Notice Regarding Special Set Hearings in Division AI
Special Set Hearing slots of 15 or 30 minutes are obtained from the Online Scheduling System. FOR SPECIAL SET HEARINGS, PARTIES ARE NOW GIVEN THE OPTION OF APPEARING IN PERSON IN THE COURTROOM OR VIA ZOOM. Once the hearing slot has been selected from the system, an order setting the hearing will be generated, which will contain the Court’s Zoom information if one or both parties wish to appear via Zoom. The order is then submitted for signature and e-served through the Online Scheduling System. Please note that special set hearings are set by court order, not by notice of hearing.
In accord with the Order Setting Special Set Hearing, send all materials (notebooks, binders, etc.) in hard copy five (5) days in advance of the hearing for Judge Curley’s review. If submitting a volume of materials (e.g., a binder) please ensure that the materials are bookmarked to allow the Court to transition through the materials efficiently. As noted above, when sending the paperwork for a hearing on a Motion to Dismiss, please provide the Judge with a copy of the OPERATIVE PLEADINGS. On a motion to compel discovery, please provide the operative discovery.
For lengthy hearings (i.e., more than 30 minutes) email a letter to CAD-DivisionAI@pbcgov.org specifying the amount of time requested and include a courtesy copy of the motion(s). Available dates/times will be provided. The party requesting the hearing will be responsible for conferring with the opposing parties and informing the court via email at CAD-DivisionAI@pbcgov.org of the agreed-upon date and time. An order specially setting the hearing will then be generated.
An Evidentiary Hearing requiring more than two (2) hours will receive an order placing it on a non-jury trial docket with a calendar call date.
ALL OTHER PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS REMAIN IN EFFECT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL RULE 4 (see Divisional Instructions).

During this challenging time, the Division's goal is to continue to function as efficiently and effectively as possible. To this end, the Court strongly encourages the parties to submit any motions to the Court that they mutually agree the Court may address based solely upon the papers and thereby waive oral argument. Above all, though, the Court wishes to provide for the administration of justice without risking anyone's safety.
